Welcome to african icons
The African Icons Invitational (NPC) is a charity that raises funds to benefit widows and orphans of South African police officers killed in the line of duty. We do that by hosting some of S.A.’s most epic cycling events and inviting some of S.A.’s (and the world’s) highest profile athletes to act as our ‘African Icons’, thereby attracting ordinary cyclists to open their wallets and their hearts and come and ride with our icons.
The African Icons Invitational is a registered non-profit company (NPC) founded by Rory Steyn in 2018, with the aim of making a difference in South Africa. The aim of this event is to raise funds for the families of South African police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. All funds raised go to support the education of and to provide financial support for these families. African Icons Invitational supports the Widows and Orphans Fund and SAPSET

We are excited to announce our annual charity cycling event taking place 22 to 25 Feb 2024 at the Alpine Heath resort in the Drakensberg. We have limited space for only 50 riders, so make sure you secure your spot today!
Join us for a weekend filled with beautiful views and cycling adventures in the mountains and surrounding areas. We have experienced riders to guide the different riding groups, catering for riders of all levels, including a special group for just ladies! The routes varies depending on the group you choose to ride in, ranging from 1-hour to 4-hour rides each day.
We have some legendary icons joining us this year. Look out for our Icon announcements!

The 2022 African Icons promises to be an unforgettable experience with 4-day getaway to to the luxury Dunkeld Equestrian Estate in Dullstroom
Not only do you get to ride one on one with our celebrity icons but the 4 day experience is also loaded with social activities with our celebrity icons including wine tasting and fine dinning experiences.
As with all our previous epic rides, this year’s routes once again promises breath-taking views. SEE THE 2022 ROUTE. The race caters for all levels of riders After you are done with the days riding, enjoy some of our other excursions with your new friends such as golf, fly-fishing, whiskey tasting at the estate.
